MEET HONU

Honu (Hoh-noo), meaning turtle in Hawaiian, is a symbol of wisdom, resilience, and good luck. Our robot is built on these same principles, promoting environmental awareness and drawing on our shared knowledge to combat pollution.

Cornell Nexus Mechanical subteam

MECHANICAL

The Mechanical subteam designs and assembles Honu’s integrated internal systems through manufacturing, testing, and iterative development. The team models Honu’s structure in CAD, creates prototypes through 3D printing, and refines components through machining.

ELECTRICAL

The Electrical subteam designs and assembles circuit boards, integrates sensors, and distributes power throughout Honu. The team also develops autonomous charging, GPS localization, and precise motor-control systems.
