How and where can I apply?
Applications are open now through the form linked at the top of this page. For fall 2026, upperclassmen applications are due September 3, and first-year and transfer applications are due October 15. You can also sign up for a coffee chat to meet the team and learn more about our work.
What does the application process look like?
The application consists of a short essay response and a résumé submission. After applying, wait to hear back from us.
When is Cornell Nexus recruiting?
Our first scheduled fall 2026 event is an information session on August 31, followed by Project Team Fest on September 1. Upperclassmen applications are due September 3, while first-year and transfer applications are due October 15. We recruit for subteams with available positions.
When are the information sessions?
Information sessions are scheduled for August 31 at 5 p.m., September 14 at 8 p.m., September 29 at 5 p.m., and October 8 at 5 p.m. Locations will be announced later.
What recruitment workshops will be offered?
We plan to host one workshop for each subteam, primarily for first-year and transfer students. Planned topics are mechanical CAD during the week of September 7, introductory circuits and breadboarding during the week of September 14, computer vision during the week of September 21, and a business résumé review during a week to be announced. Specific dates and times are still TBD.
When will applicants receive decisions?
Cornell's uniform first-offer date is September 16 for upperclassmen and November 2 for first-year and transfer students. Onboarding for new first-year and transfer members begins November 4.
How else can I learn about the team?
Meet us at Project Team Fest on September 1, attend an information session or recruitment workshop, or set up a coffee chat with a current member. Follow us on social media or check this site for location updates and application links.
Can non-engineering majors apply?
Yes. Many members of our business team are non-engineering majors, and we encourage students from every major to apply for our technical teams as well.
Do I need experience to join?
No. Prior technical experience is always a plus, but it is not required. We will teach you what you need to know.
